Breech Baby turned using Webster Technique

When I was pregnant with my son, I found out that my baby was breech at 38 weeks. My dr said that we could schedule an external cephalic version followed by induction if successful or c-section if not. Or we could just schedule the c-section. My dr doubted that an ECV would be successful at this point because my baby was 9.5lbs. None of those options were acceptable to me. I came home and began to research. I found out about the Webster technique and went to www.icpa4kids.com to find a chiropractor in my area certified in Webster. I called each one within a 50 mile radius and discussed their personal success rate with them. I found one that I really clicked with. She had a lot of experience with Webster including performing it on women who were already in labor. I went to her the next day and was surprised at how simple and non-invasive the Webster Technique was! As I made the 45 minute drive home, I felt my baby flip to the vertex position. It was truly an amazing feeling! I finally had relief from that big hard head that was poking me in the ribs. Over the weekend my baby returned to the breech position so I returned to my chiropractor. At this time I was 39 weeks. I had Webster again and my baby returned to the vertex position. I continued to get Webster every couple of days until I went into labor and had the beautiful natural birth that I dreamed of.

Ear Infection Relief

Another story!

Benjamin has trouble with ear infections and this week he started showing signs of his ears hurting. We went to the office as normal on Monday and told my dad Ben's ear was bothering him. Dad looked at it and said the one ear was indeed infected. I asked him if I should call the doctor and get a antibiotic filled for him. He said no and went and gave him an adjustment, cleaned out his ear with peroxide then alcohol then this "Miracle Oil" that my Mom ordered out of some catalog. Wednesday we checked Benjamin's ear, there was NO sign of inflammation or infection in either of his ears. As a child I was put on so many antibiotics that when I get sick as an adult they almost have to do it thru an IV and make it a very high dose because nothing works on me. Tubes were not an option and I was always left to suffer. Jason, my husband suffered from ear infections as a child and had tubes. I am just so glad Benjamin can be healed non invasively and he doesn't have to go thru what his dad and I went thru!

Isn't that awesome! Someone so small can do so much!

Chiropractor of the Future

So... where should I start.
My dad is a chiropractor and 2 of my uncles were chiropractors and I have a cousin that is a chiropractor... so I guess it is in our blood.
My son is 16 months old and we go to work in my dad's office 3 times a week and Benjamin goes along... I swear the patients only come to see him... but anyway... Benjamin has grown up in the office. We have been working there since he was 5 months old so he knows his way around. Benjamin has been mimicking my dad for a long time. He would put his hand on the wall and tap on it with the other one, just like my dad did to him when his sinuses would act up. A couple of weeks ago I had a patient come out and tell me that Benjamin gave her an adjustment. I laughed and went on my way. Well yesterday I went back to my dad's desk to ask for an adjustment and Benjamin went into the room and stood right by the table. I laid down and he started pushing on me and kinda made a "hugh" sound like my dad does. I started laughing. I just know he will be one too! More power to him!

From Patient to Chiropractic Student

I had headaches in grade school and was a very poor student because of it. I barely made it into college, but I became a single mom before graduation. I had seen some chiropractors during high school, but it never really helped my headaches long term. When my headaches got so intense that they made me vomit, I wanted to end my life. I knew going to an MD, I would get pills to cover up what was wrong.

I decided to give chiropractic a try. This chiro explained subluxation and nerve interferrence. I eventually became headache free. My daughter was checked at 5 days old, but was subluxation free. She was such a happy baby...it was amazing.

I moved hundreds of miles from there, and continued to search for a chiro that was on the same wavelength, but with no luck.

I had my second child, but she was sick constantly. I took her to two different chiros in the first two years of her life, and was very frustrated because I knew the power of chiropractic.

With God's grace, the chiro that helped me with my migraines moved within 1 1/2 hours from us. We drove there three times a week and within a short time, my daughter was completely off of her prescription meds. What I knew was possible all along.

I decided that I wanted to help others the way my family and I had been helped.

I am attending college at Northwestern in Minnesota. I am looking forward to helping my patients bodies heal themselves, and am very excited about educating the public about subluxations.

Dentists got people to take caring for their teeth more seriously, and I intend to get them to take caring for their spine more seriously!!

Blessings,
Jan

Blind Man Suddenly Sees Again

Blind Man Suddenly Sees Again
DUBUQUE - Doctors aren't quite sure how it happened, but a Dubuque man can see clearly after being blind in one eye for more than a decade.

It happened after a trip to the chiropractor.

Twelve years ago Doug Harkey's left eye suddenly stopped working. "I woke up one day and I didn't have vision in one eye."

And as quickly as he lost sight, he got it back.

Harkey said, "he just did his normal adjustment and, voila!

After a routine visit to Chiropractor Tim Stackis, Harkey says a miracle happened.

"My blind eye starting watering after I left there and it watered for 45 minutes straight. It started making my good eye water. I went to wipe my right eye and I could see out my left again."

Doctor Stackis said the bones in the Harkey's neck were out of alignment.

Stackis said, "That interferes with the messages and energy the brain sends down to the rest of the body."

Harkey now has the depth perception he'd been missing, just what he needs as he's about to walk down the aisle with his fiancée next month.

Harkey’s Fiancée, Gina Connolly said, "I'm not use to him not running into things or stepping on our feet."

Doctor Stackis and Harkey were both surprised by what happened.
Harkey said, "He has miracle hands, I guess."

Was it a miracle? Harkey’s not sure how to explain it, he’s just glad it happened.

Harkey says his eye doctor says with the help of corrective lenses he will be able to almost perfectly out of both eyes.

Immunization Information

Have you ever taken a look at what is in the immunizations we give our children? It takes a lot of work to investigate each one, so many parents choose just to trust their doctors. I found this today and thought it was very well laid out.

Just a bit of background on a few of the vaccines....
formaldehyde...remember dissecting in highschool? Remember the horrible stinky liquid that animal was in to 'preserve' it? That is being injested into our children!!!! (And to think that the smell of it made many of us gag or throw up!)

Phenol, also known under an older name of carbolic acid, is a toxic, colourless crystalline solid with a sweet tarry odor (From Wikipedia). Phenol is a byproduct of distilling tar.

human diploid cells from aborted fetal tissue....anywhere you see human diploid, this is what it is.

Whiplash

When I was 17, I was involved in a car accident. I was in my best friends car riding in the front passenger seat. It was at night, and it had been raining all day. We were stopped at a red light waiting for it to turn green when we were hit from behind at about 30 mph. Luckily I was wearing a seatbelt, but came within an inch of almost hitting the windshield. Luckily, no injuries...so I had thought.

The next morning, I remember not being able to move out of bed. I called out to my mom in tears because I thought I was paralyzed ( so it had seemed ). She helped me out of bed, but I couldn't move my neck.

My dad suggested my mom to take me to a chiropractor. No ER, no medical doctor...just straight to a chiropractor. Back in 1987, chiropractors were just becoming noticed, or maybe that is when the first time I have ever heard of one.

I didn't know what to expect. I had no idea what I was about to experience.

The first thing they did was take a whole body x-ray. It was kind of neat to see a full length shot of my entire anatomy. I do remember the first thing the doctor asked me. He had asked me if I wore heels. At first it took me by surprise because I kept thinking, I am here because I cannot move my neck and he's interested in my shoes!?!? He was right. I wore heels or as I used to call them..."pumps" almost everyday with my jeans ( we are talking about the 80's...what girl didn't). He continued to say that he could tell by the way my pelvis tilted back. Interesting, I thought. But what about my neck???

After my examination, I overhear him explaning to my mom as to what happened to my neck. Apparently, the force of the crash extended my neck forward, and when it bounced back, 2 of the vertabraes in my neck, basically "crunched" into each other. So, what he needed to do was "uncrunch" them. I definately wasn't prepared for my first "adjustment" but let me say, when I left there, I was able to move my neck. It was VERY tender and sore and had to wear a neck brace for 2 weeks, but let me tell you...it was a moment I will never forget.

I went to him 3 times a week for a month and fully recovered. He said I may later in my adult life have problems with my back because of this injury. I am happy to say that I am very lucky that has NOT happened yet. BUT, if it ever does, I will know who to go to.

Overcoming bedwetting

Another success story in our house is that our now 10 year old son has had bed wetting issues since he was potty trained. For years everyone told us it was normal for boys, but this didn't seem 'normal'. It was a nightly occurance and sometimes would happen two times a night. Last quarter at school, our intern decided to try a sacral adjustment on him. That night, our son wet the bed more than I'd ever seen. It was really bad and I was really concerned. But the next several nights, he stayed dry. Our chiropractic intern told us that with a deep sacral adjustment, sometimes that happens. We quickly realized that if our son got a sacral adjustment, he had huge success. He is now wetting the bed MAYBE once every 2-3 weeks, instead of nightly. We are very pleased!!!

Fighting Constipation

I guess I should probably post a couple of my own. We have so many success stories in our household, but these are the most 'dramatic'. My daughter has had constipation for all of her 7 years of life. It was not uncommon for her to go a full week without ever 'going' and it would take her an hour of sitting in the bathroom before she could ever actually go. This quarter we got an amazing intern at school who had heard of some success with constipation by adjusting the Atlas. He decided to try toggling her atlas and immediately we saw results. She is now going approximately every other day-still not ideal, but a HUGE improvement. Now we don't go a single week without having her toggled and the results are amazing!

Adj. a 6 month old baby who had never pooped

Not long after we took Adrik, my mom was in a grocery store, and somehow got on the subject of chiropractors with the cashier, and mentioned that we had taken Adrik. The lady in line behind my mom was holding a baby, I can't remember how old, less than 6 months. The lady said that her son hadn't EVER pooped, since he was born. The doctors were all VERY concerned, and had run all kinds of tests. They had said that he needed MAJOR surgery and it would be very risky. Someone had suggested they take the baby to a chiropractor just a last-ditch effort before sending him to such a traumatic surgery. So, they did, and the baby pooped while the chiropractor was working on him!!! The baby had been having regular bowel movements since then, but they were still seeing the chiropractor for a while, just in case. My mom said it was a really cool story, and the mom of this baby was almost in tears as she was telling it!

Adjustments to a 3 month old

We took Adrik to a chiropractor when he was 3 months old! He was VERY stiff when he was born, and would arch backwards so badly that we literally could not hold on to him. We were told he may have cerebral palsy, then we were told he had a simple torticollis, and all sorts of other things. Finally someone suggested a chiropractor and we thought, "why not?!" The guy we went to had young children of his own and told us that he had adjusted all of them before they even went home from the hospital! We realized that Adrik had been head down and very low in my pelvis for the entire last trimester, and a vacuum had been used on him during birth. Those two things were causing his stiffness, and after just a couple of appointments he was totally fine! The chiropractor didn't actually "crack" him or anything, but had other techniques for adjusting such a small baby.

Here I go again...

Yep, ANOTHER blog. I'm finding that these are just great ways to organize information while sharing it with other people as well. Lately I've had so many people wanting to share their Chiropractic success stories with me. These stories are so inspiring to me and I know that they will be what keeps me going when things get stressful and chaotic. It'll help me remember why I'm doing what I'm doing. So, if you have chiropractic success stories, I'd love to add them.

And please, no taking of the stories off of this blog. I've gotten permission from each person to post their story, but that does NOT make them free public access. Please emial me if you want permission from the person who's story is here and I will contact them for you.
